Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, as well as being a non-practising barrister.
He qualified ATT and CTA at Grant Thornton within their East Midlands agricultural team and is a trust and capital taxes specialist within the sector. Succession and inheritance tax planning as well as business structures are amongst the areas he advises on.
Before joining Moore Scarrott, Chris was tax director at Haines Watts in Exeter and a lecturer at Mercia Group. He continues to lecture on agricultural and capital taxes for Mercia as well for Plymouth University as a visiting lecturer; and regularly contribute to Farmers' Weekly.
